Splitcoast Tutorial: Faux Stamped Leather

This week's tutorial over on Splitcoast is a fun technique called Faux Stamped Leather - it recreates the look of debossed leather using cardstock, a stylus, and sponged inks.

Instead of stamping a solid image, I used a holly stencil from Penny Black and filled in the image with a sepia Pitt marker. I sponged chalk inks onto the panel after tracing the outline with a stylus. I love the rustic look! This technique can be taken to another level too - check out Melissa's scenic card here! Amazing.

Hope you'll try this out!

  1. Dina, love love this card, it is so beautiful, especially those tiny pearls make the card so elegant, I cannot find out another word to describe, it is very good.

  2. Oh this is really pretty. Do you mean that you die cut the holly and then colored in the negative spaces?
