Impression Obsession - All About the Dies - Day 3

For the last 3 days, the Impression Obsession designers have been sharing lots of ideas for using IO dies!   You can visit the I.O. Blog each day of the hop for links to the previews. Make sure to comment for a chance to WIN!

I saved my favorite projects for last! This is a quick and simple card, using just a few dies (they're listed at the end of the post). This manger scene stands on its own, with the help of a stand made from 2 gift card envelope die cuts. I overlapped the wide area and folded up around the base rectangle...

...then used a glue dot to stick the 2 flaps together. I'll tuck a little treat in there to give this as a gift.

Here's a view from the back - the manger scene is just stuck on with a couple of glue dots at the base and one against the envelope tabs. You can see that I cut another stable die to cover my layers - sandwiched in between is a Large House die that just fits the open areas of the stable.

I made a second card in white, and cut a Large House from a stencil sheet to sandwich between my stable layers. Vellum would work for this too. I shaped the envelope stand along the shape of the frame, because I didn't want it to create a shadow...

in the base of the stand I tucked a battery-powered tea light! The ones I purchase flicker like a real candle, and create a beautiful warm glow through the backing. I think these will make beautiful Christmas gifts and decorations, and they go together so quickly!

These are the dies I used today:

Manger
Gift Card Envelope
Beach Fence Die
Small Grass Border
