Impression Obsession DT Challenge: Beautiful Stamped Backgrounds

The Impression Obsession team's challenge today is to create a project with a stamped background. I have a beautiful stack of prints made with my Gelli Plate, and one in particular that I wanted to use with snowflakes and snow scenes. After being away from my desk for 2 weeks, I got carried away and made 3 cards with that background!

On this card, I embossed Crochet Snowflake 1 and Vintage Tassel Snowflake with white powder. For the grid texture, I rolled my roll of drywall tape over a Versamark pad, rolled it over my background and then embossed with the same powder. Here's a closer look:

The sentiment is from a clear set called Mini Messages.

My second card was done using the Fir Tree Border die and one of the circles from the Snowman Set set for the moon - I cut the background directly using the dies, embossed with a Sizzix folder, then replaced the images with white cardstock cuts. To add the glitter, I used the negative cut as a stencil, sponged Versamark ink from the top of each outline, then used sticky embossing powder to adhere glitter from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

One more! I cut stencil film using the Large Snowflake die, then used those cuts as masks on the Gelli Plate. This piece was the ghost print. I debossed the Sled die on Neenah cardstock and used Twinkling H2Os to color the scene. I used a pearlescent paint to do the sky area - it looks greenish straight on, but purple at an angle. It's so pretty in the light! The snow is dotted acrylic paint, applied with a large stylus and sprinkled with glitter.

  13. Each of your cards is beautiful and I'm impressed that they all started with the same background that was changed up in some fashion. I especially like the second card with the inlaid cuts and that you only 'frosted' the trees portion of the Fir Tree Border.
