Be Still - Grid Works dies

A VSN challenge last month inspired today's card... the challenge was to use stickers on a card, and since I didn't have any, I made my own! I'd been processing Etsy orders and had some sticker paper left that I'd trimmed from the edges of my mailing labels. They were just the right width to die cut into squares, using this die from Sizzix, which coordinates with Art Squares from Inchie Arts! The line of dies is called Grid Works.

I brayered several layers of acrylic paint and glaze onto a strip of the label paper, stippled black paint through some drywall tape, and then stamped the Bamboo and Chinese Script images. When the piece was dry, I cut the 3 squares using one row from the 1-3/8" Sizzix Grid Works die. The die cuts are so precise and clean, and fit onto the 1.5" Art Squares with a nice narrow border.

The verse stamp is also from my line of stamps at Impression Obsession.

I loved making these mixed media stickers - you'll see them again!

  4. Your card is so very beautiful that I had to "copy" it as soon as I saw it! Mine turned out very different but it was at least inspired by your post - and your acrylic-scrap-technique. I made a blog post about it - in German, I'm afraid, but I linked to your page (twice, in fact - once to this page here and once to your scrap-technique) and maybe you'd like to have a look at my cards: http://jahreszeitenhaus.blogspot.de/2014/07/kreativer-sonntag-kartentutorial.html

Thanks for inspiring!!! Love your blog! <3
