Impression Obsession DT Challenge: Inspired by a Song

The Impression Obsession team's challenge today is to create a project inspired by a song.

I love this image by Alesa Baker (link below), so I decided to go with the little-known song "Proper Cup of Coffee" by Trout Fishing in America... it's silly and random and fun.

I made my card while I was trying out the new Spectrum Noir pencils (click HERE for my review). I wanted to try out the pencils over alcohol markers. I started with 3 Touch Twin Markers, on a white ATC from Inchie Arts:

Here's what the panel looked like with markers only.

The pencils made detailed shading easy, and this image is so fun to color. Here's a picture during the coloring process, with a tiny glimpse of the disaster that was my desk that day!

Here's the completed card...

the background panel was one of my Acrylic Batik samples that didn't make the video because the design was too fine to be seen on camera. I ran it through my Big Shot with a border die, just to leave the impression of the die.

Stamps and dies I used:
Pattern CAC, Tea Leaves, French Ledger, Fancy Cutout Border Die

  1. I don't know that song, but love how you did the impression. That cup of coffee looks ready to enjoy, and you want to smell the aroma. well done. Pencils did good.
