Mixed Media - two kinds of paint
There's a new Mix-Ability challenge up over at Splitcoaststampers! Jeanne's challenging us to use two kinds of paint on our projects.
I grabbed a great deal from Crafter's Companion a few months back when they had a holiday sale - they had several of their bundle deals for a further discount, and I fell in love with these Flower Fairies.
They're fun to color, so I did a few (I'll share the others later), using Shinhan Premium Watercolors. I added deeper shading with Polychromos Pencils and highlights with a Montana Extra-Fine white acrylic marker. Love that thing.
I used Lumiere Acrylic Paints on the wings - even watered down, they have an amazing shimmer to them. I just got a few more colors and can't wait to play with them.
Hope you'll join us for the challenge this week!

WOW!
ReplyDeleteThis is AMAZING, Dina!
I love the depth you achieved with the different mediums!
I like the added depth that pencil gives after watercoloring or even using alcohol markers. This is a lovely piece of work.
