Inky Antics - Snapdragon pendant

One of my guest projects for Inky Antics last month was a glass pendant. Jackie sent me a sweet little set with poppies and snapdragons, and I already have 3 poppy necklaces, so I chose the snapdragon image.  I used a photo online for color reference, and colored with my Touch Twin Markers. The colors I used are below - I was surprised that it took so many colors for such a tiny piece!

The glass tile I used is 7/8" x 1-1/4". I put a thin, even layer of Diamond Glaze on the back side of the tile, and laid it over my colored image. I set a little glue bottle next to it so it wouldn't slide - sometimes the tile will 'float' on the glue a little and shift position. I left the piece overnight, so the glue would dry completely.

Once the glaze was dry, I cut around the edges, signed the back of my piece, and coated the back of the cardstock again with Diamond Glaze. When that layer was dry, I added a small bail to the back and secured with more glaze.

Here's the finished piece! It's on a memory wire necklace that I got at Sun And Moon Craft Kits - you can find all kinds of jewelry-making supplies there if you'd like to make something like this too!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Thanks for sharing, this turned out beautifully. I've been interested, but haven't had a clue. And it looks simple. Maybe some inspiration for this rainy weather we keep having. Have a good week

  7. OOOO la la! Hot pinks hit parade in glass! Likin' that memory wire and bail. I agree per above that this project is rainy day friendly. What a blessing to read of rain in another locale! Drought isn't fun. Flood has its down moments, too. But the happy time between less than zero crinkle and mud gumbo comes beautifully to the Rocky Mountain eastern front. AAHHH,, the green! Such varied tints as we drove around watching turkey vulchers soar among thermals at nightfall. Cheerfulness oozzessss from your necklace, Dini, like springtime stars of joy. Thanks for sharing. Keep Looking UP!
