Good things.

Apologies if my blogging is a little more sparse this week! We are hosting a conference at our campus this coming weekend for about 150 guests who are traveling in by land and sea. We have a family staying with us, and I have an odd variety of responsibilities that will have me running here and there, so anything creative I do this week will be either for function or necessary art therapy!

Wanted to share the card I made combining this week's Mix-Ability challenge and the first challenge from A Mixed Media Color Challenge! Kyra's challenge to work with bright colors and then tone them down with a layer of white was perfect for this card, because I started off with a much deeper pink than the color challenge called for, so it needed something to calm it down.

I started with a base of designer paper with grey and black stripes, then dripped and brayered pink acrylic paints over the surface. After that I did some stamping with Impression Obsession stamps and brayered more with light pink and white paints.

I added texture using drywall tape, plastic canvas, and my brayer, then took the panel outside and added a layer of white spray paint, masking with a chevron stencil from Crafter's Workshop.

I'm adding this to Tracy Weinzapfel's monthly dare too - she has some word prompts that she dared us to use in our pages, and though this isn't one of them, it fits into the theme. So many fun challenges out there! Hope you'll pick one and join the fun. :)

Have a great day!

Thanks for stopping by!
