Inky Antics - Hattie Sends Love

This month of guest posts has gotten me all kinds of sentimental! It has been so fun to work with stamps that have touched my heart. Thank you, Inky Antics, for such a fun opportunity!

If you've enjoyed seeing my work with Inky stamps, leave a comment over on their blog post  and you'll be entered into a drawing for the stamp set I used today! I adore this one!

This set (Hattie Sends Love) again reminds me... of me...! When I was growing up we moved a lot, which gave me lots of opportunities to write letters to friends in other places. I was one of those penpals people hate to have... I would sit down and write back immediately, as soon as I had finished reading. I've held on to some of those sweet friends to this day though - so thankful for them!

I am terribly frugal with my paper scraps, because you just never know when you might need them... you know how it is! They're fun to mix and match too, and sometimes odd and fun combinations come from the scraps that get left out on my desk. I grabbed these ones from my stash, and pieced together this fun little layout, then embossed the panel with a Spellbinders folder. I was mentally referring to this layout at the Seize the Birthday challenge blog, though my card didn't fit any of the other challenge requirements.

I colored Hattie with Prismacolor pencils. The background was sponged with dye ink while the oval piece was still in my Spellbinders die, then shaded more with the pencils as well.

Finished the front off with a couple fun die cuts (large bow and button) from Impression Obsession. Love that stringy bow! Another tip too - I always 'thread' my buttons with a thin strip of paper - sooooo much easier than messing with needle and thread! I must be getting old... I have such a hard time threading a needle any more!

I stamped the image inside the card too, and extended the table line with a marker of the same color (Memento Desert Sand).

Thanks so much for visiting today! Remember to hop over to the Inky Antics Blog for a chance to win!

Thanks for stopping by!
