Beautiful World - Bookmarks
Welcome to the March Beautiful World Tour, brought to you by Flourishes! Each month the team presents
a themed blog hop, hosted by our group of international
designers... we are literally spread out all over the globe! At the heart of our projects is
the idea of truly showcasing beauty in card
making – whether it just be in a beautifully colored image, a fabulous
way to incorporate an embellishment or a new twist on a card layout. This month we're welcoming my sweet 'sister' Bridget to the team! So excited about that.
If you just happened on the blog hop today because you're a regular reader of my blog, and you'd like to view the entire hop, you can start back at the Flourishes Blog - you'll find a full list of participants there, and all the details you need. If you're already hopping and you arrived here from Naomi's Blog, you're doing just fine.
This month our theme is the Beauty of Bookmarks! I used the large image from the Gerber Daisies set for both of my bookmarks - I made 2 different styles... just wanted to see how a corner bookmark would come out! The images on both bookmarks are stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento ink and colored with reinkers (green background) and Inktense pencils, then embossed with a textile folder.
For the inside structure of the corner bookmark, I started with a rectangle of cardstock 1.75" x 3.5" - I scored it down the middle, then from the corners on one side of the rectangle to the center scoreline, then folded in on the diagonals. I didn't like the corners of the triangle sticking out from behind the heart shape, so I cut them off.
The sentiment is a partial image from the Lenten Rose set. I love that little reminder to 'be still' - it's been especially appropriate lately!
I used a fishtail shape for my second bookmark, keeping the color scheme the same.
This sentiment is from the Orchids set.
Leave comments for all our designers and you could WIN A FREE FLOURISHES STAMP SET!! Comments will be accepted until the end of the month, and a random comment will be chosen by one of our designers - but we're not telling which one! The more comments you leave, the better your chance of winning will be.
From here you'll be traveling on to.........
Thanks for hopping with us today! Don't forget to leave a comment!
