Impression Obsession & the Crafter's Workshop hop!

In March, Impression Obsession began working with Julie Fei-Fan Balzer and the Crafter's Workshop to produce stamp sets to coordinate with their line of stencils. (You can click on Julie's name above to read her post about the release!)  Each stamp set can be used independently, or with its coordinating stencil. Likewise, each stencil can be used independently, or with its coordinating stamp set. So cool!

Today we'd like to share those products with you! Julie and Mitra are joining the I.O. designers in a blog hop. You won't want to miss a thing - Julie will be giving away a set of all six stencil and stamp sets to one lucky commenter!

There are 5 different stamp sets and one background stamp with coordinating stencils - you can view all of the stamps HERE. I've linked the stencils I used below.
I began coloring my background by applying acrylic paint to heavy cardstock with a sponge. When the base layer was dry, I used the stencils to add texture and color, again applying paint with a sponge. I added the 'fly' word with a Touch Twin Marker, and also used the marker to ink up the butterfly overlay stamp, spritzing it with rubbing alcohol before stamping.

Something I learned about rubbing alcohol - it does not play well with acrylic paint! That can work for you or against you, depending on the look you're going for - the alcohol revived the paint that was dry, which allowed me to distress it with my fingers a little.

I trimmed around the large butterfly wings with a craft knife, and popped them up with foam tape, then shaped the wings with my fingers a little so they had some lift and dimension. I stamped off the smaller butterfly on a scrap piece of paper before stamping it to my background. For this card, I used the Butterflies Clear Set, Butterflies stencil, Beads stencil, Tickets stencil, Bird Scene stencil, and Circles stencil.
If stencils aren't your thing, the stamps work well on their own too! I stamped the open image from the Flowers set in a light green ink, then watercolored the panel using Derwent Watercolor Pencils and Albrecht Durer Watercolor Pencils. The sentiment I used is from the Greeting Card Sentiments clear set.

Here's the full list of designers sharing their projects with you today:

Enjoy the hop!!
