Sweet & Sassy Hop: Think Spring

Once again, it's time for a Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps customer blog hop! The theme this month is "Think Spring"! Here's my card, made with the Poppies & Greetings set, one of my SNSS favorites. ♥
I used a fun technique on this one - first I stamped the poppies in Versafine Smokey Grey, watercolored the images with Distress reinkers, then used a Sakura glaze pen to fill in the colored images after the ink was dry.

Next, I made a little faux inkpad with a dry baby wipe... I stamped the poppies in a light ink onto the wipe, then dropped my reinkers around the outline, so that when I set my stamp back into the ink, it would be where I wanted it on the image (so sorry for not taking a picture! hope my description makes sense). I misted my watercolor paper with water, and stamped over my watercoloring. You can see in the close-up how the colors bled into the paper - I had hoped they would spread a little more, but this is cool too. I used a waterbrush to add a little more of the same colors to the scene at the top and bottom of the panel. There are clear glass microbeads in the flower centers.
You can pop over to the Sweet 'n Sassy blog to find a list of all the hop participants...... thanks for stopping by!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
