Covered Bridge

I love working in monochrome... it really helps me to see an image in a different way, focusing on light and shadows. This image (Covered Bridge Scene) is stamped in brown ink on kraft cardstock, then highlighted and shaded with just 2 pencils, white and sepia. I stamped the Wood Grain Cover-a-Card on my card base, and added some scored lines to imitate the wooden planks on the bridge. By the way, if you were hoping to shop Impression Obsession's sale (20% your order, and free shipping over $35) and missed it, the sale has been extended until Friday, Dec. 3rd! I poked through the catalog and found a few images I hadn't seen before - I'm looking forward to playing with those!

Have a great week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. I just love this. I am obsesses with bridges, doors, windows. Guess I see them as ways to get from one place to another. I really like the fact you used pencils on this, too. I like my Copics but find myself going to bed with my Prismacolors and when I can't sleep, just coloring images. I must have missed this stamp when I ordered from the IO sale last night. I thought I was gonna be late, then they add more. I just can't get enough more right now for free shipping. There is always next year.

  2. Gorgeous work! I love this monochrome look, and how you did it! I'm a covered bridge junkie, and I also missed this one. I have the one in the circle, but now I need to go back and check for this one! You're such an enabler!

  4. Oh this is gorgeous! I love the soft tones with the little white highlights. The wood plank background goes perfectly with the pretty covered bridge. Perfection:)
