Cherish Today - beach scene
Sooooooooo cool when I have time to play the challenges... I let them stack up in my feed reader until I have time to do more than one, then I make a list of all the ones that are current and see how many I can fulfill at once. To give you an idea of how long it's been since I checked them last..... there are 822 unread posts in the 'challenge' folder. I certainly can't make it a priority, so I'm not complaining at all! Lots more important things in life. But it's fun to play once in a while! Here are the challenges I'm playing today:
Caardvarks sketch challenge by Heidi Van Laar
Creative Belli Blog challenge #99: pull out the dusty old stamps. This stamp is from Rubber Cottage and I think I probably bought it at the first stamp convention I attended in Kansas City... when would that have been? 2002? It's been put away for quite a while! HERE is a direct link to the set. I stamped the image in Versafine ink and watercolored with Derwent WC pencils. I used Neopiko markers for a bolder red. Can't wait for my Inktense pencils to come!
Stampin' for the Weekend challenge #46: Shabby or Vintage. The duotone look reminds me of a vintage story book, and the corrugated paper and rayon seam binding add to the shab.
Stamp Something challenge: Spots and Stripes. The spots (CAC Large from Impression Obsession) are stamped in white acrylic paint.
Simple Doodles challenge #26: color me with Dots.
Crazy 4 Challenges challenge #54: use the colors Red, Kraft, and Black. BTW, I loved making the sails red - I just finished reading Red Sails to Capri with my daughter - such a great book.
I cut a small tag from the corrugated paper, and stamped a small saying from the Flourishes Strawberry set on it.
I had fun making this card...... hope you like it, too!
