Skipping Stones Sketch Challenge

Time for another sketch challenge from Skipping Stones - be sure to check over at their site for details on the challenge and a peek at how the design team interpreted the sketch!

I stamped the cupcake (Buns and Crunches set) in Rouge chalk ink (Colorbox) and watercolored using a combination of Derwent pencils, Adirondack dye reinkers, and Shimmerz. I found the rose trim locally - isn't it pretty? I stamped the pearlescent pink cardstock with an Impression Obsession Cover-a-Card stamp to add some light texture.
I wanted to share this idea too, thinking of watercoloring - it occurred to me that these ice trays that came with our freezer make perfect palettes for my reinkers! I love that they are deep and white, and the sections are small. **TIP - I mix my reinkers with a couple of drops of matching Shimmerz for a little extra sparkle on my image.
Hope that's helpful!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. Sweet card. Which Cover a Card stamp did you use. I can't seem to find it on the IO website. Love your blog.
