Someone remembers........

Just wanted to share a couple of simple cards I made for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge - this is for challenge #6, to create a card to let someone know we are thinking of them or praying for them. All stamps I used are from smARTworks - I used the Coneflowers set and the sentiment from the Daisy Trio #1 set, which is one of my designs. First card is watercolored, second one is colored with Prismacolor pencils, blended with OMS.

This week has worn me out...I was totally unprepared for the beginning of a new month, and realized as I looked back over the events of September that there were many big things that happened - no wonder September went so quickly!

I'm encouraged with my house help situation right now - I realize that working for me isn't exactly a career move on their part, but it's refreshing to see that they are willing to learn and truly be helpful instead of just checking off a list of things to do...I am continually learning more about myself as I work more closely with people...especially how rotten I am! There are certain days of the month I seriously need to have a "beware" sign on the front door...

Tomorrow I have a baking project planned with one of my friends - this week we've had people trimming and harvesting the coconut palms on the campus, so a few young coconuts are making their way to my kitchen to become Klappertaart....it's a coconut custard with rum flavoring and raisins, topped with meringue. MMM, so good!!

OK - off to jar up my granola...

  2. Lovely cards - both of them. I own and have used that sentiment on cards of encouragement. Quite efficiently, it says it all! It works really well with the cone flowers.

  8. So beautiful! I am sure you are not as rotten as you think you are. But I do know that the close we get to God and see His perfection we do see our "rottenness" more clearly, like a stain on a clean white tablecloth. Blessings
