lighthouse frame

I promised to show you the framed piece I made using a printed hymn...this is "Let the Lower Lights Be Burning", which references God's mercy as a lighthouse and has always been meaningful to me... The stamped image is "Seaside Scene" from Impression Obsession. It's colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS.

Love this......one of these days when we actually get decorations up on our walls, I can display my small lighthouse collection, and this will be a perfect accent. But first to get the Christmas decorations down from the attic...I've just been praying they're not completely covered with mold...the back of this frame, which was sitting on our buffet, was all furry moldy. BLECH, ACK, UGH......I hate rainy season!

  3. Dear Dina, I haven't heard of that hymn since my mother played piano and sang it so long ago. Good memories! We would sing as she played on many a Sunday evening. I credit her for the familiarity I have of lots of the old hymns. My kids know many of them too.
Sheet music as background is lovely! I tried to navigate my way around the website you cited, but without success. I will try again. Your wall art will be lovely.

  5. This is beautiful! You have given me an idea for my husband. He actually arranged this hymn into 4 part men harmony for a group he directs so this would make a perfect gift. Thanks for the idea.
