tea and inspiration

Trish's inspiration piece for this week's smARTworks tea party had so many possibilities... almost too many! I may have to go back to it just to be inspired some more. Anyway, I'm easily overwhelmed, but we've been through enough stuff lately I was *not* going to let a photo get the better of me! I decided to focus on the color combo of the chair and pillows in the lower right corner. Pale-ish tealish/turquoise-ish, charcoal and black. The floral image (Wonder) followed the image in the framed piece - sort of.

Several things about this card didn't go as planned, but that's ok. :) The first flower was stamped and embossed clear, then I applied chalk ink over the image direct-to-paper. The black flowers were stamped over top. Additional smudges were added to cover up the unintentional one....that's where it became a rescue effort rather than a triumph. You maybe can't see in the photo but there is diamond dust on some of the flower areas. That's kinda cool, very sparkly. Love that stuff.

Be sure to check out the other team members' creations as they post throughout the day...

  2. Wow, I *REALLY* like what you've done here. I never would have guessed that the little speckles were not intentional - they add some real depth!

  3. The initial impact of this card reminds me of something, but I simply can't place it... I like the shapes and colors together, and since nothing looks like it went awry, I'd say your "save" worked and then some!
