tea and inspiration
Trish's inspiration piece for this week's smARTworks tea party had so many possibilities... almost too many! I may have to go back to it just to be inspired some more. Anyway, I'm easily overwhelmed, but we've been through enough stuff lately I was *not* going to let a photo get the better of me! I decided to focus on the color combo of the chair and pillows in the lower right corner. Pale-ish tealish/turquoise-ish, charcoal and black. The floral image (Wonder) followed the image in the framed piece - sort of.
Several things about this card didn't go as planned, but that's ok. :) The first flower was stamped and embossed clear, then I applied chalk ink over the image direct-to-paper. The black flowers were stamped over top. Additional smudges were added to cover up the unintentional one....that's where it became a rescue effort rather than a triumph. You maybe can't see in the photo but there is diamond dust on some of the flower areas. That's kinda cool, very sparkly. Love that stuff.

Wow, I *REALLY* like what you've done here. I never would have guessed that the little speckles were not intentional - they add some real depth!
ReplyDeleteThe initial impact of this card reminds me of something, but I simply can't place it... I like the shapes and colors together, and since nothing looks like it went awry, I'd say your "save" worked and then some!
ReplyDeleteDina, this is stunning!! I love the colors together!!
