Hope

I used stamps from the Impression Obsession set Garden Fence to create this scene - and used the word "hope" from the Sentiments Add-On set. I guess I have one more day to stamp something hope/pink for October's breast cancer awareness!

This is such a fun stamp to watercolor! This is a Fabriano Mediovalis card, which are dreamy to work on. I masked the flowers, birds, and smaller elements using Grumbacher's Miskit Frisket, then used reinkers and watercolor pencils to fill in the background elements. After everything was dry, I rubbed off the frisket, and colored in the rest. I masked the first fence post and stamped the sign stamp directly onto the fence, then stamped another sign on a scrap of watercolor paper, added the word, colored, cut out the sign and attached it to the card with mounting foam. That's it!

We had a little celebration at our house last night...remember a couple months ago DH lost his wedding ring while playing soccer? I was able (with the help of many of you!!) to save up my watermark money to purchase a replacement ring, and yesterday it arrived here, hand-carried by one of our itinerant co-workers. We didn't do anything incredibly cheesy, but it was fun to share a special time with friends. And some super yum, super rich peanut butter cream cheese brownies...!

(My 4YO thought Dad was wearing an earring in this picture - he's not really! I have some candle jars up there and the flash hit one just right.......! funny though!)
