Tea time!

Donna challenged us to create a card without adhesive for this week's smARTworks Tea Party challenge. (Truthfully, that gave me one less thing to search for in the rather than a limitation, that was a good thing...LOL)

The Hummingbird stamp is from a newly released set called "HSD-Hummer" (HSD refers to artist Darlene Poole's business, Heavenly Smiles Original Designs! Several of the new releases feature her beautiful art.) He's watercolored, and kinda sparkly in real life. :) Didn't show up in the photo at all.

Making a card with no adhesive requires an engineering mind and a plan beforehand...I might have rather used the sewing machine if it wasn't a bother to pull out, and if I could assure that it wouldn't ruin my card. So, the brads and the ribbon worked...though, truthfully, I will probably go back and disassemble it and tape down some of those edges before I send it on. Otherwise, no surprises - I think I got the paper at the Dollar Tree.

  1. Beautiful card Dina! I really love how you didn't use the whole image! Brads are always a great 'no glue' holder.

  2. I love it, Dina! I just knew you'd find a way to make layers without glue!

  3. Great layout, and good job engineering it :)

  4. Well done, as always. Everything just "works," but I especailly like the way your layered background papers give further the illusion of "sky."

  5. Super pretty card!!! The hummingbird is beautiful.
    God bless

  6. As usual, Dina, your card is so very pretty with beautiful coloring!!
