(smART) cookies and tea

Our smARTworks Tea Party challenge, brought to us by Susan Liles this week, was to alter something "other than a card." I'm always on the lookout for cheap things to alter, and still had 1 more of these photo mats that I found in a 2-pack at the Dollar Tree. 2 for a dollar is cheap! Yeah!

I didn't use much in the way of supplies, other than chalk inks, and a stamp positioner to place my images. The colors I used are Colorbox Fluid Chalk Bisque, and Versamagic Gingerbread and Eggplant (and now I'm hungry). I used a bunch of sets in this project: Grow (daisy), Darling Duo (small flower stems), Accents #7 (ribbon), Diamonds and Dazzle (circle texture (what is that called? sequin something)), Purpose (flower cluster with the Queen Anne's Lace), and One Smile (handwriting)! It look small in the picture, but the mat fits a 5"x7" picture, and fits in an 8"x10" frame.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the team created as they post throughout the day:
If you decide to alter something too - link it here! I'd love to see what you come up with!

  1. Having seen "the other one" in person, I know this one is just as "yummy" -- must be those inks! Such a soft and pleasing look. Very nice!

  2. Oh Dina this is pretty!! I love how you get the image "faded in" - like the text and the Diamonds! How do you do that?? I've tried what I've heard referred to as "hand walking" over my background stamps but it never looks as nice as yours and others.

    Thanks for sharing!!
