cookies and tea!

Anyone miss the smARTworks DT tea party challenge? We're back...I think...just needed a little break for the holidays. Here's our 5th tea party sketch, brought to us by Heidi Kingery.

Sorry...I didn't have the sketch in front of me when I sat down to play, so I ended up shifting up the circle element, and therefore having to flip the sketch to keep it balanced with the corner thingie.
The "happy" stamp is part of smARTworks' new Combo Sentiment sets - thought it would be fun repeated in different colors. Sure I saw that idea in an ad or something while we were traveling. The cupcake is from a set called..."Cupcake"...which comes with a birthday sentiment and is just cute. There.

On the colored panel - all inks are Versamagic chalk inks. I swiped the green ink pad around the edge, then blended with a waterbrush - I think I'll be doing that again. Like it. Hopefully you can get an idea from the pictures how the card is assembled - the circle element acts as a tab to keep the card closed. I cut the half-circle with my Coluzzle. Striped paper is from Arctic Frog, and the solid green is Basic Grey.

I had a good birthday - to tell the truth, I spent most of the day in the kitchen, but after stamping, that is therapy for me, so it's ok. ;) Can't tell you what I made 'cause that would give away my bird-day giveaway question (didja guess yet?)...but it was gooooooooo-oooooooood!

  1. Who'd of thunk it!!! And believe it or not, using the "happy" from your Combo Sentiments also crossed my mind...I didn't, however, even come close to envisioning your unique closure, but I like it a lot.
