'cause he's got.......

....High Hopes! A while back Kraftin' Kimmie had a card contest on her blog, and one of my entries won in the animal category...the prizes for the winners were new release stamps from High Hopes Stamps. I have my little wish list from High Hopes - such cute stamps - and this one was up at the top...so what a fun surprise when this little guy arrived with our other mail in a care package from my Mom last week! Thanks Kim!

Of course I had to sit down and play right away. This image is watercolored using Derwent pencils. I used Versamagic chalk inks on the grass (Biblical Impressions) and clouds (masked using a scalloped circle punch - see tutorial to the right). The saying stamps are from smARTworks..."friend" is what's known as "bonus rubber" (Susan includes a free gift with your order), and the "once in a lifetime" line is part of a quote stamp, which says, "You only meet your once in a lifetime friend...once in a lifetime. --Little Rascals". I stamped the entire quote inside the card, in the lower right corner. Faux stitching, colored stamples, covered paper frame, and a little sanding - there you have it!

I'll be back on Sunday...I'm joining a group from the school on a little trip up the mountain for a missions/school presentation. Should be fun...I'm in a trio group and a larger vocal group (ha - me and all the single students), and DH has been working with some guys on a short skit. Not sure if I'll be playing a borrowed keyboard at any point...that prospect always scares me. Anyway...see you!

And don't forget about the Triple Treat Blog Party...............drawing Sunday night!

And did you vote already at the Art Impressions contest?
