pink....Christmas.......!

This card took me forever to put together too...but only because of being sick midway. After all the process...I'm so pleased with how it came out! I think this is the first pink winter card I've ever made. I made 2 teeny changes after taking the picture, but then was too lazy to take a new one - you probably wouldn't even have noticed the changes anyway. :)

This is the other image from smARTworks' Sweater Teddy set - there are 3 total - the mom and baby bear on the ball, the bear with his hand pointing up, and this one with the sled. Aren't they so cute? And I love that bears can be whatever kind of bear you're in the mood for. Black, brown, white, pink...

On the focal image itself - the sweater is pieced with the same stripe paper as in the background. There is pink flocking on the scarf and on the bottom of the sweater. I repeated the flocking in a strip along the pink layer, and also added a strip along the top later. Fuzzy! and pink! I used chalk on a cotton ball to pink up the sky, and the snow is white acrylic paint applied with the end of my embossing stylus. I added a little snow to the sled too. I felt the snow added a little more balance, with the image itself being a little "left-ward" (bulk to the left, facing left). The snow kind of pulls your eye back to the right. I added another line of snow with a black pen, and shaded a little with a grey pencil.

Delight" is a partial stamp, and that's a metal eyelet charm under the tag and ribbon - sort of hard to tell. The other change I made to the card was adding a white card base to it, to make it a 5" square. That's it!

  5. This one really works! And since winter and 'pink' aren't usually paired, it's especially eye-catching. LOVE it!
