tea for me

Drinking tea is one of my therapies, as well as making bright colored cards when I'm feeling down. This is another I made last week...I'm also in a self-challenge mode of using up scraps and prestamped images - so that's where this card came from. I've used this layout before here - you can check that post for credits. I had my sewing machine out that day too - I can't wait to have a dedicated place for it so I don't have to pull it out each time I want to use it...!

All stamps are by My Heart Stamps for You. The tea set is colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with mineral spirits. I raided my red scraps for some strips to use - my paper scraps are sorted (kinda) in page protectors so they're easy to grab. The strips are random widths and lengths. I liked the added whimsy of putting 'something' at the end of each one - I wanted to use buttons to go with the sewing, but I didn't have enough small ones of the right color so I went with brads instead. The saying is a little hard to read - "Your kindness made my day!" I had a hard time getting it to stamp clearly in Stazon on the vellum, besides that I think the actual stamp is flawed.

Card #2 was made using one of Julee's Blogger Bingo layouts - I never got it posted before she changed the sketch, but I'll post it anyway. All it's missing from the sketch is a saying in the lower right. Same "stuff" as above, but the teacup is popped on foam tape on this one.

Thanks for checking in on me today!
