Sketch Challenge 98

I got my SCS sketch challenge in for the week - now I'll be able to sleep tonight...LOL! (actually that depends on if my 2YO is over his stomach crud...sigh...) I had this moose image colored already and decided to cover up some of the angle cut with him...hope that was ok! The moose is one of My Heart Stamps For You's Alaska images. It's really kind of a quilt-y patterned image, so I colored him in with a black marker. The trees are done with a single pine branch image. I sponged the sky and ground and used a blue blow-pen to make some stars (yep, blue stars...). I flipped the image over and scored 1/8" from the edge with my Fiskars scoring blade, then turned the panel right side up and lightly sanded over the score lines.

The faux hinges are made with a 3/8" wide strip of scrap paper, which I stuck straight into my southwest corner punch.

I read about the faux wood technique somewhere on the internet, sorry I can't give decent credit where it's due! I achieve the effect by dragging a white dye ink pad (I used Memories) down the cardstock. It seems like the tutorial I read actually used colored ink on white cardstock....anyway, I drew a couple black lines in with a ruler so it looked like boards. The tutorial I saw also added in nails and horizontal board lines. Thank you is stamped with Black Stazon.
