simple Christmas card

I had a few girls come over to make Christmas cards, so I came up with this simple idea to teach them. The baby Jesus is from the SU retired Miracle of Christmas set, and the background stamp is from Biblical Impressions, now available through Eureka Stamps. Jesus is stamped first in Stazon Jet Black, then masked with a post-it note (stamp, then trim around just the baby and the blanket, not the hay, cover up the image). The Names of Jesus background is then stamped right over the top (I used Versacolor Bamboo ink). I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils, and stippled and sponged the background just to fill in more color.

I still haven't even begun Christmas cards...these are my first ones! I doubt I'll make many more, and these ones will be late...what a party pooper I am! Just kind of floored by the cost of postage here. I wonder what the cost is in-country...maybe I'll send them to co-workers.

I finished up a batch of cards (20) to send home with my in-laws for My Heart Stamps for You - I hope they're pleased...it's really my best batch of work for them, IMHO...the things I've sent before are a little lacking, because I didn't have all my supplies (I shipped about half my supplies here, so I had to wait about a year for them); besides that, I was 'holding back' a bit because I wasn't being compensated. I'll be getting paid for this batch (shwing!), so I was a little more motivated. :) Still waiting for them to send me some more stamps to play with though...
