Impression Obsession - All About the Dies Day 1

So glad you've joined us for our 3-day DIE showcase! We've been having so much fun with these new dies from Impression Obsession, and we have tons of ideas to share. You can visit the I.O. Blog each day of the hop for links to the previews. Make sure to comment on all our blogs for a chance to WIN!

We know how crazy you are about these  dies - each day one winner will get three dies of their choice!!

I wanted to share a card I made with the Halloween Hill die, and also give a tip on extending and varying the hills to make layers like I did below.

I had this stamped background in my stash - I made it a couple of years ago, when I was experimenting with a reverse resist technique (chalk inks are applied directly to photo paper, then the background image is stamped with Memento inks and quickly wiped away). I used the circle die to create a negative cut for the moon.

Here's a visual to show you how I created the hill layers without repeating the house and tree... I cut the die once, leaving space at the other end of my panel to line up and continue the curve. On the bottommost hill I just cut out the objects I didn't want, using a craft knife.

The sentiment I used was stamped on the smallest square tag - You can find it HERE.

These are the dies I used on my card:
Halloween Hill
Nest & Hole Die

  40. Thanks for the info on the background technique, will have to give that a try...it made for great placement for your moon...and I like how you have layered the die cuts. Seeing that you continued the cut the full width of your paper is a good reminder we are not limited!
