Tea party layout challenge

Susan T. provided our layout challenge for this week's smARTworks DT Tea Party. The only instruction was regarding the text placement.

I hadn't yet pulled out the "Farewell" set except to use the grass stamp, so I thought I'd feature that one today. The set is adorable...it reminds me of a sweet older friend who told me that when she was growing up she remembered missionaries leaving to move overseas, and everyone going down to the harbor and singing "God be with you till we meet again". Such a different picture these days! Anyway, the set can be found here, if you feel enabled...there are the grass stamps (one long border, and 2 "tufts" in different sizes), 3 children waving (back views - you know I love them!), and 3 sayings.

I love these hotel room challenges...I did manage to pull it together, I think! I have a collection of paper scraps along, and was thankful to find a white card in there too. The girl is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink, then colored with Prismacolor pencils. Clouds done with a large Prima flower as a stencil (desperate times...), and the grass was stamped with Versamagic ink (I can't remember if it was called Green Tea or Tea Leaves. Something Tea.) I filled in the foreground with some more chalk ink, direct to paper. The water is also chalk ink, DTP, masked with a post it noted. I didn't find the brads until after the card was put together, so I tied the flowers on with ribbon. I put them at an angle, to try to counterbalance the dark panel on the left...it's a little wider than the sketch, and that's only because I had to piece it that way because of the width of the scrap I used on the right! Next time, not so wide.
