Impression Obsession DT Challenge: New Beginnings

The Impression Obsession team's challenge today is to create a project for a new beginning... so here's a card to celebrate the beginning of 2019!

I stamped the 4 white matboard squares in my MISTI, then masked off the streamers and dots of the noisemakers with a clear glaze pen - I love that tool for masking fine details! I had stamped in blue dye ink, so I used the same ink to watercolor the background, then added in a little shading with colored pencils.

I used the Grunge Dots stencil from A Colorful Life Design for a little extra detail in the background - that's such a fine pattern, and I love the extra texture. A little splattered silver watercolor paint finished off the squares for me. The sentiment banner is just slightly bowed - I have 3 layers of foam tape at the center to lift it up.

Stamps I used: Happy New Year, Party Popper Horn

Be sure to check out the other designers' blogs for inspiration and remember you can enter these challenges too, using your Impression Obsession stamps! See the I.O. blog for all the details - you might even win a $25 gift certificate!! We'd love to have you join us.

A heads up too - be sure to come back Monday to see sneak peeks of my 2019 Spring stamp collection! This release is really personal and special to me, and I sincerely hope you love it as much as I do!

Also be sure to comment on my Seasons Giving post HERE - the drawing ends on Friday!

Thanks for stopping by!
